When I first met Richard, I was sat watching a talk at the @cleanandtidyhomeshow before I was due on stage for the Parenthood panel.
He was chatting to someone about how passionate he feels about equipping children with the skills to clean. If you know me already, you will know that I am the award-winning author and Nanny of 'More to Organising' and I am known throughout the Education Industry where I do workshops on 'Enabling Environments' and go into nurseries and homes organising with children in mind, so I turned around, apologised for eaves dropping and said,
"We have to talk"
We collaborated on a blog about how to get your children cleaning.
Richard told me about the concept of his book before he even started it, and shared draft versions and it was so exciting to be one of the first to see the final version.
Why did you write the book?
"There were two reasons. To get kids interested in cleaning, it also helps parents get the children to do housework and maybe help with disagreements in the home when children are asked to clean and they don't want to"
What do children learn from the book?
"They learn about a little girl called Sparkle who hates cleaning. You follow her journey as she learns the basics in cleaning and actually starts to enjoy it"
What is next for Sparkle?
"There are three more books in the works!"
When is the book out and how can we get it?
"The book is out on the 15th of August and there will be a link on my social media @richardpearson"
We are also doing a live interview at 8pm on 6th August on Instagram @more_to_organising so come ready with your questions!
